It has been awhile... Since my last blog, Chloe turned 1...May 18th.

I was going for the worst mother of the year award when I completely forgot it was her birthday until 10:00 PM the night before. I ended up at Wal Mart at midnight wandering around, looking for something a 1 year old might like. I got bubbles. And a necklace. And a microwaveable cake. And the guilt was free.
I had an excuse though-we were headed to California that day for a holiday! We went with Don's parents and brother. We had a terrific time. Although sunny California was not so sunny, it was cloudy and cold!
Chloe eating her birthday cake...not on her birthday. Shhh...no one ever has to tell her.
Chloe's first trip to the beach. Judging from her coloring she will be a beach goer in the fashion of her mom- poor girl-
That is, hat, sunscreen, clothes, and sunglasses.
We rushed back from CA to attend my little sisters long awaited graduation...we even missed going to Disneyland so we could make it.
Now-try to find the unusual aspect of these pictures. Give up? We are wearing jackets! AZ had a freak storm blow in and we ended up with winter weather. Usually this time of the year we are sweating to death! avg. temperature is in the 90's during the day. Day of her graduation, it was in the high 50's. It was truly bizarre!
Anyway, because of the crazy weather they had to move the graduation inside and they were limited with seats...so I did not get to go. Yes that is right. So I was kind of bummed I missed Disneyland and the graduation. But on the upside, it has been fabulously cool outside.
The End.

Wow what a week!

Well this week has been eventful. First and foremost Don graduated!!!! His parents came down for the occasion.
Notice we had to bring along Chloe because the night before she was throwing up...all night. The first time I found her was in her crib, her head nestled in her own vomit. It was nasty. Ever since then we have been switching from cleaning throw up and well, stuff from the other end. I am hoping today is a new day and no more of either!
Thankfully it has been around Mother's Day so Don has been doing all the laundry.

Things I will miss about Don's graduate program-the socials and food! They had a luncheon for all of the graduates and family members.
I didn't mean to download this picture, but I can't figure out how to delete it now.
Oh! Don got a mojor award! A leg lamp! Actually he got the award for "Entrepreneurial Energy." Way to go Don! We got a cruise as a prize...not really, but he did get a really nice Plaque. (not the kind on your teeth)
Did you know AZ is by the ocean?
Don looking all collegiete.

And lastly, Mother's Day was very nice. We stuffed ourselves at Village Inn on Saturday (boy was that place crowded) I recommend the crepes. And then he was basically my maid for the whole weekend. He was very nice to me. He even changed Chloe's diapers without me having to ask. I spoke in church yesteday...bluh...which ruined my appetite for a couple days, so the pancakes he made for me sunday were not as delicious as they could have been. We played "Blurb" on Sunday night and Don won. It is like a shorter game of Scrabble. Anyway Don tried to win making up words like "wut" (he said this is how Utahns pronounce "what", no offense to Utahers, you know it is true) and some other really funny ones I wish I could remember.
Well remember how I said I hoped that I would not be cleaning up Chloe "messes" today...looks like I just started. Oh boy. How long do these things last????

Family Pictures and a Prom

I have been trying for months to get some family pictures taken. Finally my wish was answered. Our friend did these and I think she did a great job.

I love her face in this one. And Don's too. : )

And on another note, my little sister went to Prom. Most everyone knows my Chelsey stories.
She has been looking forward to this "high society" event for weeks now. Everything she says has been "high society" this and "high society" that. She said it was her FIRST "high society event." I asked, "What about my wedding?" She replied, "That was not high society."
A couple other humorous Chelsey comments:
My family went out to eat a few days before Prom and Chelsey said that high society people only talk to other high society people, so she wouldn't be talking to us for the rest of the night..by the way, she caved, she talked to us.
I got her ready for Prom and afterwards she said "Getting beautiful is sometimes slightly unenjoyable." Yes, yes it is.
She had a fantastic time at the Prom by the way, and I think she cleaned up very well!
P.S. Don graduated in two days! Yeah!
