There are a billion more where these came from.... Chloe loves taking self portraits. I probably should tell her it is not a great quality to be obsessed with yourself and to take a lot of really close up shots of yourself. thankfully she is not on facebook. Otherwise I am sure she would change her profile picture daily.

Anyway. This past Saturday I saw "Wicked" with Chelsey and one of my favorite people of all time, the illustrious Robyn ___. It was simply amazing. all the hype was warranted. I had never really heard much of the music and I knew nothing about the story. So it was so fun to see how the story played out. It was so clever. I think Chelsey liked it. at least she told me she did. However she did yawn literally every ten minutes and clear her throat quite loudly after each yawn, so.....

at any rate, I decided I missed my calling in life and I have decided to move to NYC and try to get on Broadway. The competition can't be that stiff. I think it is high time I follow the Disney Channel's advice-all I have to do is "believe and my dreams will come true." If I want t0 be a star, all I have to do is "follow my heart." that's what I learned from "Camp rock" and "Hannah Montana."

I hope I get the part of "Glinda." I mean I guess I would settle for the Green witch, but if they let me choose, I will definitely, definitely pick Glinda. Her costumes are waaaaaaaay cuter.

I cannot believe that anyone would actually consider this a good idea.

6 AM
"Mom. I peed in your bed."

Don told me last night that we should start waking our kids up at 6 AM so that they go to bed earlier.

So I guess I shouldn't complain. But that phrase is not exactly my idea of a great alarm clock.

6:30 AM
"Mom. Is Santa a real person?"

"Yeeeeeessss."

"Does Santa go to the bathroom?"

"Yeeeeessss."

And with that,
Happy Valentine's Day all!

Chloe: Mom, is the "Land of Dreams" real? (she has been watching a Strawberry Shortcake movie).
Me: No...but dreams are.
Chloe: Well, not without a shooting star.

Me: Well that's true.
Chloe: Mom. I had a really great dream.
I had a really BIG Lollipop.
And a sleeping beauty doll.

(Guess she found a shooting star).

This past Sunday we had a Birthday/Housewarming/Super Bowl party. Macie turned one on Sunday, Super Bowl Sunday. we thought it would be a good opportunity to have the family over to see our new house. I think it was a success. Macie of course had no idea she was the guest of honor. For her birthday she got a box of tissue and she did get to eat a piece of cake.
I felt emotional about her turning one all last week. Now that it is over I seem to not be so weepy about it. My Macie has been such a gift to me and to our family. I don't know what I did to deserve my sweet girls. There are so many beautiful creations on this planet, but babies and children trump them all. No Grand Canyon or Niagra Falls can compare to my children's smiling faces.

PS
In kid news:
Macie seems to have decided that she hates baths. which is odd. As of two weeks ago she loved bath time. Now every time I bathe her it is like I am trying to bathe a cat. She can't get out of there soon enough.

Chloe found a yogurt top with a picture of a strawberry. she took the lid and glued it to a popsicle stick. Then she told me that she needed a strawberry seed so that she could plant strawberries and then she could stick her popsicle stick in the ground to mark her garden.
I wish her luck in making a strawberry grow here.

Chloe kept asking me today to help her find her "golden stone."
I thought she was crazy.
And she kept telling me to look in her big toy box where all the forgotten toys get put (and here I think of the poor Velveteen Rabbit and that weird looking baby on Toy Story 3).

I kept trying to change the subject because I just knew that it was not in there (for one thing I had no idea what her "golden stone" looked like, or that such a thing existed) and I did not want to lug the big cardboard box out to rummage through junk.
But if it is one thing that 4 year olds excel at, it is being persistent. I knew she would not drop the subject until I got that gosh darned box down.
And so I did. And lo and behold, there was in fact a golden stone resting beside a dismantled Mrs. Potato Head and half of a broken doll house.
And yet once again I learned this lesson: When Chloe tells me she knows where something is or that she has a certain something or other, or that she wants to wear a certain shirt that I cannot for the life of me picture in my head...I should just believe her. She ALWAYS knows what she is talking about.
Well, when it comes to kid stuff.
