A Short Thought

So today I have caught a little bug and have been taking it pretty easy. Chloe fell asleep on me while I watched a show I found on the AMC channel. "Close Encouters of the Third Kind." Never really seen it before, just know it is a "classic." So I watched it. And I have to say, I would NEVER get on a spaceship voluntarily with aliens that were that weird looking. That's all.

Why Must Target Be so Wonderful?

So this is the last week of Don's school vacation. Poor soul. I do not envy him. I still have nightmares where I am trying to write a 20 page research paper in one hour, that I had all semester to do. I always wake up very relieved!

So here are some little tid bits about the past little while. Did you know Cold Stone Creamery gives you free ice cream for your birthday? Go to their website to sign up. It takes a little effort to get the coupon, but ahhhhh, the reward is worth it!!

Yesterday I went to Target and I was VERY proud of myself that I stuck to my list of mandatory items. If I hadn't, I would have come home with:

*Valentine themed Door hangings

* Valentine Bath towels/hand towels

* throw pillows (a tiny obsession of mine)

* Valentine themed outfits for Chloe

* This really awesome shirt for me.

* A PB sandwich from the Food stand. They are a dollar and they are delicous. It is a PB sandwich without the crust.

Sigh. I could go on, but I won't. I really love that store. Except for their really crappy return policies. That I do not love.

And lastly, I dyed my hair trying to get it back to my natural very dark brown color, and it turned out looking gothic. And that really annoyed me. And I just have to say if it were possible to have short hair for most of the time, but then long hair for just a few days when you wanted to leave it down, that would be ideal. But alas, if you want long hair you can never have short hair...and I guess it works the other way around too. Long story short, my hair is driving me crazy.

And I have managed to write a lot about pretty much nothing! So here are some pictures! Just another day at the Mommy Spa!
And...Chloe!!

New Years and Such

The latest...
Well 2008 is now here. We rung (is that proper english??) in the New Years with a few friends from Don's Real Estate Master's Program. We took Chloe with us. I thought she would probably fall asleep...but Chloe had other plans. She apparantly knew it was the designated day to Par-tay because she played well past midnight. I might mention she didn't sleep very much during the day either. But I will hand it to her-she was in a very good mood and so she was fun to show off!

Don's B-day was also on New Years Day. He turned 31. Go Don! His birthday was kind of lame. I can't even remember what we did. So I planned a surprise dinner at a restaurant for him a few days later and invited some friends from the single days that we hadn't seen for a long time. That was fun.

Let's see...what else....

Chloe got herself into this bind. She is happy in this picture, being proud of herself that she got in there in the first place. She was pretty mad though when she couldn't figure out how to get out.
So we went to the traveling "Santa's Theme Park" on January 5th. Sound a little odd to anyone? I admit going after Christmas...heck, after New Years, the place had lost a little bit of its Holiday "magic." But it was still pretty entertaining, but for not the typical reasons. It was basically a miniature State Fair, Christmas style. Carnies and all. It also had a very frightening HUGE Santa. I felt very sorry for the man behind the suit. I mean really, he SHOULD be back at the North Pole by now.
Okay so here is why I found this place so entertaining.
1. My BRILLIANT husband had the grand idea of putting Chloe in her stroller this way, instead of in her car seat that just attaches to the stroller. As you can see, she was very pleased. I guess looking up at my face isn't as thrilling to her as the rest of the world she can see in this position.
2. Chelsey.
Chelsey, Chelsy, Chelsey. My little sister never ceases to amaze me. So for anyone that doesn't know, Chesley is my 19 year old mentally disabled little sister. She is basically the funniest person I know. We invited Chelsey to go with us for two reasons. We thought she would have fun, and secondly, we needed someone else to go so we weren't riding on rides alone. We thought Chelsey could watch Chloe while Don and I rode on some rides together. I didn't think Chelsey would really want to go on the rides because they would be too "scary." It turned out that I was really grateful she went, but not because of the before mentioned reason-I was glad because she was Don's partner for all the rides I refused to go on. She is FEARLESS. Let it be said that I am horrified by many amuement park rides. In fact I have been known to close my eyes and sing hymns while riding many of them. The picture above is the first ride she went on that completely shocked me. I thought she would come off the ride really mad because she hated it, and I was feeling bad that I hadn't stopped her from getting on it (I wouldn't have gotten on that thing). But instead she gets off and is raving about how much fun it was. I seriously was so shocked. And then it kept getting funnier from there. For instance:
So here is Chelsey riding that ride that takes you up really high then drops you really, really fast. She loved it.

Chloe and me were grateful to be on the ground staring up at them.

Other amusing tid bits:
There was this ride that was supposed to simulate hang gliding that I went on with Chelsey and it was really funny because she goes out of nowhere "Aaaaa...feel the mist." That really made me laugh.

She also told me that she wanted to go on all the rides because she wanted to "conquer all her fears." I realized that night, I could learn a lot from Chelsey, and also, it is never good to place limitations on people.

And this picture of Chloe and me is in front of Chelsey's favorite ride. There is no way I would have gotten on that one either.

And finally, my funny story today. Don and I were watching a movie (National Treasure) and we got up in the middle of it to change Chloe's diaper. When we came back we could not find the remote anywhere. We were really baffled. We spent an hour looking for it, and while we did not find the remote in some of the places we looked, we also found some "treasures" of our own. Apparantly I need to clean the top of my fridge more often. That decrepid thing I am holding is a banana. We did finally find the remote, it was hidden in a video tape case on the coffee table...but we found it rather ironic that we were on our very own treasure hunt!

And that is all! Bon Jour!
